STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT Will Release Physically For PlayStation And Nintendo Switch

The wait is over as Spike Chunsoft announced that the latest entry in the franchise, STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT will release on October 29, 2026, for both the North America and Europe regions. Fans can now also pre-order the physical copies of the game. It will be available for multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. Along with this announcement, the franchise also released a new trailer to give a glimpse into what players can look forward to.

The trailer shows the name cards of the key characters along with updated visuals. Players will follow the story of Okabe Rintaro, Itaru Hashida, Kurisu Makisu, Mayuri Shiina, Suzuha Amane, Faris NyanNyan, Luka Urushibara, and Kiryu Moeka all over again in this retelling of a science fiction adventure.

The Xbox Series X|S and Steam version of the game is scheduled to release on August 20, 2026. However, now that Spike Chunsoft has now confirmed a multiplatform release for STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT, players who own a PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch consoles can also join the bandwagon. For the Japanese regions, the game will come out on August 20, 2026, for all platforms.

The physical release will also include a Steelbook Edition for collectors. This will feature newly drawn art by Huke and 4.5 inches water-resistant sticker. The preorders for STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT are open at the official website. The physical editions are exclusive to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The price of the Steelbook edition is confirmed to be $69.99, and the Standard edition will cost $59.99.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT promises revamped visuals, newly recorded sounds and voices, and improved readability. A lot of images will be redrawn, and the number of background visuals will be increased. The voice actors have rerecorded their voice lines for Japanese Audio. The developers have also promised a better story pacing and a smooth reading experience. The remake intends to tell the original story in the 2009 version in a way more suitable for modern audiences.
