League of Legends: Classic Updates
LoL: Classic is finally coming to live servers after initially being confirmed by rumors. LoL: Classic is set to come out on July 29, 2026, alongside Patch 26.15.
This new mode is based on Season 3 but includes a variety of the greatest moments from League of Legends history. The game was substantially different in the early 2010s, with far more stuns, fewer dashes, and more strategic gameplay. This mode is going to feature all of that and more, so what can you expect?

Here’s a quick summary of everything that this new mode will include:
- 60 champions to start (more are coming, per Riot).
- Original 40 champions with 20 additional champions, all released between 2009 and 2013.
- Players will have access to all champions they already own; others can be purchased.
- The most popular old items will be returning.
- Runes and masteries are also returning, and they need to be selected before entering a Classic game.
- Runes and Masteries will be much easier to unlock than they were originally.
- All will automatically be Tier 3 as a baseline, with no upgrades needed.
- Influence Points, a free currency, will be returning as well to unlock champions and runes.
- Single PvP draft, Co-Op vs AI, and custom modes will be included.
- Progress system from Salt to Legend.
- A positional preference system that was not seen in the original League of Legends.
- Season Classic Passes, similar to the traditional Battle Passes, will have both a free and a paid track.
- Classic chromas will also be introduced for the champions currently in the game.
And lastly, most importantly, there will be The Council. The Council will allow players to participate in a community vote, and the power of the vote will be increased based on players’ level in Classic mode.
