Nintendo Switch 2 players won’t have to wait much longer to return to Cyrodiil. Bethesda has officially confirmed that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will launch on the console on August 11, with both digital and physical editions arriving on the same day. Better yet, the physical version includes the complete base game on the cartridge, so there is no Game-Key Card and no extra download needed to play.
Bethesda has also confirmed that the Switch 2 version supports motion controls with the Joy-Con 2 controllers. As for pricing, the digital edition will be available for $49.99, while the physical edition will cost $59.99 and includes the complete base game stored on the cartridge. Players will get the fully updated base game along with all of the major expansions and previously released downloadable content. This includes Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine, Fighter’s Stronghold, Spell Tome Treasures, Vile Lair, Mehrune’s Razor, The Thieves Den, Wizard’s Tower, Orrery, and the Horse Armor Pack.

The Deluxe Edition, which will be available in both digital and physical formats, includes everything in the standard release, plus a code that unlocks exclusive digital armor, weapons, and horse armor inspired by Akatosh and Mehrunes Dagon. Players who buy the standard digital version will also be able to upgrade later to access the Deluxe content and its exclusive quests.
It’s also worth noting that the remaster was originally released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S in April 2025. Developed by Virtuos using Unreal Engine 5, it updates the classic 2006 RPG with improved graphics, refined gameplay, and all of its major expansions and DLC in one package.
