After months of rumors and a delay from its original 2025 release window, publisher Bandai Namco and developer FromSoftware have finally revealed the launch date for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition on Nintendo Switch 2. The game will officially launch for Switch 2 on August 28, with digital pre-orders set to go live on June 11.
The announcement comes more than a year after the game was first revealed for Switch 2. FromSoftware confirmed the release date through its official website, although the studio did not show any new gameplay footage or release a new trailer for this version.
Elden Ring Tarnished Edition includes the complete base game along with the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. The package also adds new content, including new starting classes, four exclusive armor sets, and new customization options for Torrent, the players’ faithful spectral steed. If you already own Elden Ring on another platform, you will not be left out. The new content introduced in this edition will also be released on PS4, PS5, XBOX One, XBOX Series X|S, and PC through the paid Tarnished Pack DLC on August 28. While the exact price has not been announced, the DLC is expected to cost around $5.
It’s also worth noting that the physical version will be released as a Game-Key Card, which means the cartridge does not contain the full game and players will need to download it. Physical pre-orders are already available through Amazon USA and selected retailers, however, the game is not yet available on the Nintendo eShop. The current listed price is $80.
