Battlefield 6 players were celebrating earlier today after an announcement screen showed that players’ XP boosts would now count down in-game time rather than real time.
However, two hours after it started gaining traction on Twitter/X, Battlefield Comms let the fanbase know that this was, in fact, a mistake and “there are no changes to how XP Boosters currently work”. Fans of the game are rather upset, as this has been a change that players have been asking to be added for years.

This comes at the same time that the large update slotted for June 30th that will change Time to Kill (TTK), weapon recoil, limb damage, and more. Many thought that this exciting XP boost change was part of Battlefield’s Version 1.3.3.0 update.
As EA and DICE are receiving heat from the player base for this mistake, we will see if any following changes will be made. For now, it is confirmed that no changes to Battlefield 6 regarding XP boosts are being made at this time.
