The Famitsu sales charts track hardware and boxed game sales in Japan, and we report on those sales as the chart releases every Thursday! This week’s chart covers December 8 to December 14, as Mario Kart World crossing 100,000 sales once again after 17 combined weeks at #1 shows a sign of the Switch 2’s dominance this holiday season. It was only last week that the system crossed 3 million sales in Japan alone, but with over 190,000 more consoles sold this week and we’re still two away from Christmas on the chart, it looks like Nintendo is winning the holiday competition.
The sales explosion for the Switch 2 has impacted pretty much all of its exclusives, as Pokemon Legends: Z-A surges higher again with 50,000 copies sold of its Switch edition and 40,000 copies sold of the Switch 2 version. Additionally, Kirby Air Riders pushed another 39,000 copies whilst even Donkey Kong Bananza got in on the fun with 12,000 new copies sold.

Here’s the full Famitsu software sales breakdown for the December 8 to December 14 period, along with the lifetime sales for each game.
