Crimson Desert To Add New Content, Difficulty Options, And Boss Rematches

After the strong launch of the game, which sold four million copies, Pearl Abyss has announced a major roadmap for Crimson Desert, outlining a series of important updates set to arrive between April and June. The upcoming changes focus on features requested by players, including difficulty settings, improved replayability, and several quality-of-life upgrades.

One of the biggest new features is the Boss Rematch system, which will let players fight any previously defeated boss again. The update will also add difficulty settings, including Easy, Normal, and Hard modes, allowing players to choose the mode that suits them best.

Crimson Desert was released last month on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Another major addition is the “re-blockading” system, where enemy forces can retake areas that players had already freed. This will create repeatable combat encounters across the world and keep the map active even after major story progress. Pearl Abyss also confirmed that Damiane and Oongka will receive new combat abilities similar to Kliff’s “Force Palm” and “Axiom Force,” improving their late-game viability.

In addition, the studio is working on several quality-of-life updates. These include specialized storage systems for food, gear, gathered resources, and quest collections to make inventory management easier. To improve immersion, a new option will be added that allows players to hide weapons mounted on their backs, giving characters a cleaner visual appearance.

On the visual side, Pearl Abyss plans to improve the rendering of distant scenery, making the landscapes of Pywel look more realistic and detailed. Alongside these updates, the Crimson Desert soundtrack will be released for free on Steam and the major music streaming platforms.

Considering all this, it is clear that Pearl Abyss is listening closely to the community and is trying to improve player retention, especially after the initial criticism, by improving both the gameplay experience and the long-term replay value of Crimson Desert.
