Although Pokémon GO still leads the July rankings, another long-running digital monster franchise is ready to take it head-on for a spot in the Top 10. This week’s charts cover July 13 to July 17 and are based on estimated top-grossing rankings from Sensor Tower and AppMagic. Note that the figures below combine estimates across both Android and iOS.
Pokémon GO‘s 10th anniversary celebrations show no signs of slowing down so far. While Honor of Kings has reclaimed the global Top 1, it is comfortably holding onto second place. The Special Anniversary Pikachu Celebration runs from July 13-20, letting players catch a rotating lineup of extremely rare costumed Pikachu variants — from Rock Star Pikachu to World Championships 2022 Pikachu. Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y are also making their Pokémon GO debut on Super Mega Raid Day, landing this weekend.
As mentioned above, the other monster-collecting franchise making noise this week is DIGIMON UP, which officially launched on July 15 — July 16 in some regions — and quickly became an instant hit in Japan and Korea. Offering players a choice of 15 different starter Digimon and banking over 1 million preregistrations, it’s no surprise that long-time fans flocked to the game. Still, exactly how long this initial wave of nostalgia will sustain its momentum remains anyone’s guess.
Meanwhile, despite Genshin Impact failing to hold its footing in the Top 10, HoYoverse’s other RPG Honkai: Star Rail came back in full swing across the major regional charts. Phase 1 of Version 4.4, ‘In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound,’ dropped on July 15 and is headlined by the brand-new 5-star Himeko: Nova. The update also features limited-time reruns for Sparxie, Dan Heng: Permansor Terrae, and Evernight. Add the ongoing Fate/stay night collab banners for Saber and Archer — with Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh joining the fray next week — and this is shaping up to be one of Honkai: Star Rail‘s most wallet-draining months in recent memory.

Here’s how major mobile and gacha games performed across key regions for the week of July 13 to July 17.
