The latest Fortnite collaboration has been revealed, and it’s from a franchise that has close ties with Epic Games through their own store. As revealed in a social media post on the Epic Games Store account with a cryptic reveal photo, it appears the trailblazers of Honkai: Star Rail will be heading to the Fortnite island with a new collaboration. The teaser photo shows two swords, one being Kefka’s katana, and the other being the shard sword belonging to Blade.
It seems then that these two characters will be representing the game with their crossover into Fortnite, just one of the many Fortnite collaborations we’ve had recently. They might not be one of the seven crossovers we wanted to see this year, but each new franchise that arrives gives players more options to represent the games they love. It’s unclear what other Honkai: Star Rail cosmetics will be coming to Fortnite, but we’ll be sure to report on them as soon as they’re revealed.
The crossover is likely part of Epic’s alleged plans to rapidly increase their amount of gaming collaborations, especially to push players to purchase games on the Epic Games Store and earn Fortnite cosmetics in return. It’s noteworthy that Honkai: Star Rail is already exclusive to Epic Games Store on PC (outside of its dedicated launcher), so perhaps this new collaboration will be a way to deepen their relationship, and incentivise new and returning players to use Epic Games Store for their Honkai: Star Rail downloads.
