Those waiting to play The Relic: First Guardian will need to be a little more patient, as the game’s release has been pushed back. Instead of launching on May 26 as originally planned, publisher Perp Games and developer Project Cloud Games now say it will launch later this summer, with the final date yet to be confirmed.
According to Rob Edwards, CEO of Perp Games, The Relic: First Guardian is a “highly ambitious title that has seen years of hard work poured into it. Given this, the team want to take just a little more time to polish their world and hence announce that we are pushing back the release date from May 26 to the summer of 2026.”
He further explained, “Perp Games and Project Cloud appreciate your patience as we use this extra time to get every detail right and deliver an experience that meets the high standards of the community. We are excited to show you The Relic: First Guardian when it’s ready, which won’t be long now.”

Looking at the game itself, The Relic: First Guardian is a dark fantasy action RPG with Soulslike elements, inspired by Korean folklore. Players will explore the semi-open world of Arsiltus, recover lost memories, and uncover the story of a corrupted land.
One of the game’s main highlights is its combat system, which moves away from the usual stamina bar and instead focuses on parries, timing, and skill cooldowns. Character growth is based on Relics (runes), and players will face more than 70 major bosses known as “Brutals.” As more information about the game becomes available, we’ll be sure to keep you guys updated. The Relic: First Guardian will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is also planned for 2026.
