The gacha community has caught three kinds of fever — and they’re all spreading fast. Mahjong tables, soccer balls, and horses have taken over the rankings, knocking down last week’s Wuthering Waves x Cyberpunk: Edgerunners off its track. This week’s charts cover June 13 to 19, and are based on estimated top-grossing rankings from Sensor Tower and AppMagic. Note that the figures below combine estimates across both Android and iOS.
Still riding the wave of ongoing World Cup fever, Inazuma Eleven CROSS is elbowing past other gacha and fighting for the Top 1 spot in Japan. Other soccer mobile games like EA Sports’ FC and Konami’s eFootball seem to be feeling the same tailwind. Meanwhile, Umamusume: Pretty Derby is once again slipstreaming past rivals in both Japan and Korea. Trainers haven’t hesitated to drain their Carats throughout the ‘Search! Solve! Summer!’ event, chasing the newly arrived camping-themed variants of their favorites Umas — Taiki Shuttle and Mejiro Dober.
But soccer and horse racing aren’t the only sickness running through gacha players’ veins this month. Mahjong Soul stole worldwide charts’ attention as the legendary AKAGI collaboration rerun, ‘The Night of Legends,’ went live this week on June 16. Across social media, forums, and imageboards, fans scrambled to replay the limited Battle of Clairvoyance and Battle of Darkness game modes and secure animated skins of Shigeru Akagi and Iwao Washizu.
Not to be left out, Zenless Zone Zero is making plenty of noise of its own, too. Version 3.0 ‘A Sleepwalker’s Confession’ update opens the gates to Roscaelifer while introducing Velina Airgrid, the game’s first playable Wind-attribute Agent, alongside the pint-sized prodigy scientist Norma Hollowell. Perhaps the biggest headline beyond the Season 3 update, though, is the long-awaited Steam release, which brought full cross-platform data sharing between PC and mobile.
