As we dive into the second week of June, a massive crossover event has triggered a system crash on the global mobile and gacha rankings. Thanks to a highly anticipated new patch, Wuthering Waves managed to disrupt last week’s anime GTA‘s strong momentum across key gaming markets. This week’s charts cover June 6 to 12, and are based on estimated top-grossing rankings from Sensor Tower and AppMagic. Note that the figures below combine estimates across both Android and iOS.
The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners collaboration proved wildly successful, catapulting Wuthering Waves to the top spots and kicking Neverness to Everness away from the global, Japanese, and Korean rankings. The arrival of the 5-Star Spectro Pistol user Lucy has fans losing their minds over her unique Cyberspace mechanics. Not to be outdone, Genshin Impact is back in the game too, thanks to the second phase of Version 6.6 Luna VII update that went live on June 9. Players don’t seem to hesitate to immediately drain their Primogems for Lohen, the popular and highly anticipated Cryo DPS.
In Japan, Gakuen iDOLM@STER and Fate/Grand Order‘s spending is temporarily waning after the latter’s Past Chaldea story update was released early this month. SD Gundam G Generations ETERNAL, however, managed to hold onto its Top 6 crown, continuing its Gundam SEED celebration. The strategy game even managed to claim the number one spot in store sales rankings on Hong Kong’s App Store, and might be building up for its upcoming crossover with the Gundam Card Game on June 27. Perhaps boosted by the World Cup hype, the recently launched Inazuma Eleven CROSS also managed to steal a spot on the Top 10 as fans rushed to pull the limited, Samurai Blue uniform-clad Endou Mamoru and other Japan Representative members.
Meanwhile, in neighboring South Korea, NIKKE continues to flex its dominance in the local market. The game’s revenue surge could be attributed to its jam-packed June roadmap, as the idol-themed BITTER SPICE event just ended and the new tokusatsu-inspired Ark Ranger story event dropped on June 11.
