New Leak Claims Halo 2 And 3 Remakes In Development

It looks like Microsoft is planning a big comeback for Halo, and not just with one game. According to content creator and noted Halo leaker Rebs Gaming, Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes are already in development at Halo Studios, following the already announced Halo: Campaign Evolved remake.

These remakes are part of a bigger plan to remake the original Halo trilogy. Halo 2 and Halo 3 are still in early development, but they are being worked on at the same time as other internal projects. The report also says these games will be released no matter how well Halo: Campaign Evolved performs, so they are not depending on its success.

Halo Studios seems to be moving all future development to Unreal Engine 5.

There are also some small story connections being prepared. The new missions added to Halo: Campaign Evolved will include Brutes, inspired by Halo: Reach concept and art. It will act as a “tease” for what players may see in Halo 2 and Halo 3 remakes (via ResetEra).

At the same time, Halo Studios is working on other projects too. One of them is Project Ekur, a standalone multiplayer game being developed with Certain Affinity. Another is Halo 7, which will continue the story after Halo Infinite. All of these games are said to use Unreal Engine 5, which has replaced the older Slipspace Engine.

It’s also worth noting that Rebs Gaming has claimed that this information comes from multiple sources that were accurate with past Halo leaks, but as always, these kinds of reports should be taken with a pinch of salt until Microsoft makes an official announcement. As more information becomes available, we’ll keep you updated here at GameObserver.

In other news, Rebs Gaming has also alleged that Halo: Campaign Evolved is extensively reusing models and assets from Halo Infinite, particularly for Covenant enemies and UNSC Marine models.
