Game Freak’s new project, Beast of Reincarnation, was released this week after many years of work from the team behind the Pokémon franchise. The team decided to try something new outside their comfort zone, and that means their usual support console as well. This new project was released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. While for us, this new title was worth the wait, it doesn’t mean it was perfect. On consoles, a patch has already been released to address performance issues, but the team is still gathering feedback for some other fixes, especially on PC.
On the Beast of Reincarnation Steam discussion forum, a verified member of Fictions—the game’s publisher—known as Sam has been answering some of the questions and feedback from the fans: “Thank you all for consolidating feedback here. Keep it coming. We’ll be using this thread to help collect and prioritize things to address as the game gets updates.” Some of the feedback includes FOV, camera adjustments, and small fonts. “These are all issues that a handful of others have reported as well. I believe the intention is to address all three points, but sorry that you’re having a rough experience,” answered Sam in response to a user sharing these suggestions.
Additionally, one of the most requested features in the forum has been ultrawide support. It is unfortunately common for Japanese teams to ignore ultrawide resolutions in their games. Popular games such as Final Fantasy XVI from Square Enix or Persona 3 Reload from Sega skipped the native ultrawide support on their PC versions. However, in a thread in the Steam forum asking for ultrawide support, Sam answered, “We’re aware of the ultrawide issues and planning to address this as soon as possible.”
Regarding all this feedback and questions for future updates, Sam answered that “There will indeed be a patch soon. Finalizing exact timing and will let people know when we do.” For more Beast of Reincarnation coverage, stay tuned to GameObserver.
