After giving fans a first look at the campaign, Microsoft and The Coalition are finally ready to show what Gears of War: E-Day has planned for multiplayer. If you’ve been waiting to see how the game mode looks, you won’t have to wait much longer.
The official multiplayer gameplay reveal is scheduled for July 30, and will be streamed on the official Xbox YouTube channel. The broadcast starts at 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET, where the developers will give players their first full look at the game’s multiplayer experience.

During the presentation, you can expect a closer look at the 4v4 Versus mode, along with Siege Horde Mode, the next version of the series’ popular co-op survival mode. The Coalition is also expected to show off several new maps built with Unreal Engine 5 and share more details about the upcoming beta.
In case you didn’t know, the multiplayer Open Beta will begin with an early access period running from August 6 to August 10, for players who pre-order the game, ahead of the full launch of Gears of War: E-Day on October 6 for Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass on day one. For those wondering whether the game could come to PlayStation 5, that was apparently never the plan. Matt Searcy, Creative Director at The Coalition, said in an interview that a PS5 version was never even “talked about.”
In other news, Gears of War: E-Day is set to have the longest campaign in franchise history at over 14 hours, with larger levels, more collectibles, and all Bravo Squad members playable. In addition, JD Fenix voice actor Liam McIntyre revealed that The Coalition originally considered making Gears of War 6 before deciding to develop Gears of War: E-Day instead.
