Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Beta Will Include Campaign, Multiplayer And Warzone

Activision and Infinity Ward have officially announced what will be the biggest and most historic beta in the Call of Duty series, and for the first time, it will not be limited to simply testing multiplayer. Instead, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will bring Campaign, Multiplayer, and Warzone together in a single beta experience.

The beta will take place across two weekends. Weekend 1 will run from August 21 to August 25 and will be available as early access for players who pre-order the game on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Weekend 2 will run from August 28 to September 1 and will be completely free for everyone. Nintendo Switch 2 players will also be able to join the beta for the first time.

The Campaign part of the beta will include a full story mission called “Entrenched.” This means players will actually get to experience part of the story rather than only testing online multiplayer matches. Multiplayer will include several traditional 6v6 maps, including Rooftops, Silkworm, Transit 213, Cachette, and Lithium. Players will also get Ground War maps such as Imjin Farmland and Wolves Stadium along with the debut of Kill Block, an ever-changing map that reconfigures its layout between rounds with more than 500 unique combat configurations.

Players will be able to try up to 19 iconic weapons and modes, with familiar modes such as Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Kill Confirmed, Search and Destroy, and Gunfight. The second weekend will also add the new Hijack mode. Warzone will then join the beta during the second weekend. The new Zodiac map will be activated for Warzone Resurgence, giving players another major part of Modern Warfare 4 to try before launch. In other Call of Duty news, the franchise is returning to Nintendo after more than a decade with Modern Warfare 4. While some players had doubts about how the game would run on the console, Infinity Ward says it runs “pretty smoothly” on Switch 2 and that there are “no problems to report.”
