Infinity Ward Introduces Ever-Changing Map For Modern Warfare 4

The road for the next yearly Call of Duty title continues. This time, Activision and Infinity Ward shared a teaser trailer for one of the new Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 multiplayer experiences, Kill Block. Essentially, Kill Block is an ever-changing map, giving players up to 500+ possible combinations, playable in 3v3 and 10v10 modes.

For its setting, the map is described as “West Bridge Advanced Military Training — codenamed Kill Block — an off-the-books facility specializing in modular Multiplayer battlegrounds centered on reconfiguring combat layouts.” For its layout, the map includes three modular sections: two outer areas known as End Slabs and one central combat space, the Central Slab. These slabs will combine to create what the team calls a Combo.

Three randomized sections create a singular map.

While most of the positions of structures in these sections will be new, some will be inspired by classic COD maps such as Crash from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007) and Shoot House from Modern Warfare (2019). Speaking of Shoot House, when all three of these blocks are measured together, they equal the same side as that map.

For those players worried about situational awareness and navigating this evolving map, some walls and structures of the facility will be permanent. These perimeter walls are also marked with signs like “B4” and “B3” that will help you identify your location in each block. Besides the structures changing each time, the environment, for example, snow, can be added to one of the already existing layouts, creating even more combinations.

Infinity Ward has shared that this new multiplayer experience will be playable at Fanatics Fest NYC on July 16–19. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 releases globally on XBOX Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 23, 2026. For more Call of Duty news, keep your radar on GameObserver.
