Few games have captured the simple joy of trekking with a camera and appreciating the little things in life quite like the cute, monochromatic Toem. But fans won’t have to wait long to see what the sequel has in store, as developer Something We Made has surprise-dropped the demo for Toem 2 during the 2026 Wholesome Direct. The demo is now live on Steam, the Nintendo eShop for Switch and Switch 2, and the PlayStation Store for PS5.
Not much was shown in the sizzle reel, but it definitely still delivers that quirky storybook charm. And just like the first game, Toem 2 puts players back in the shoes of the curious snouted photographer, trekking through Scandinavian-inspired forests and idyllic towns. While it might sound and look the same as the first game, sometimes a sequel really doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel. After all, Toem won over gamers with its relaxing photography vibes, and Something We Made seems content to serve its core audiences and build more on top of that solid foundation. Of course, this time, it comes complete with fresh sights, characters, as well as puzzles and photo opportunities.

The Toem 2 demo itself should offer fans an early taste of what Something We Made has been cooking up since the original game’s release five years ago. While the developer team hasn’t shared exactly how much content is included, it should at least provide a glimpse of what kind of new locations, puzzles, and photography challenges await in the full game.
Toem 2 is planned to launch on PC via Steam with Steam Deck compatibility, Nintendo Switch, and Switch 2, as well as PlayStation 5 in Q2 2026. Until then, fans of puzzles and photography can get their hands on the newly released demo. Stay tuned to GameObserver for more news from the Wholesome Direct and upcoming cozy games.
