Final Fantasy XIV To Add Beastmaster Job, Plans To Make Figures Of Players’ Characters

On the latest Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer broadcast, Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida revealed a great deal of news. From a new limited job to new locations, quests, raids, and… figurines? Yes, Yoshida opened the stream by showcasing some Warriors of Light figures. (From a community translation) Yoshida said that they are planning to make figurines of players’ created characters using submitted screenshots. They have been working on this idea for a while, but the quality wasn’t what they had hoped for. A formal announcement and more information are planned for a future Fan Festival.

While the Beastmaster job was teased some time ago at a past Fan Fest, it was officially revealed today with more information. It will be a limited job with a level cap of 50. To access the job, you will need to have a Disciple of War or Magic at level 50 or above, have completed the 2.0 main scenario quest, and have the Dawntrail expansion registered on your account. Beastmaster will be a melee DPS role, equipped with a one-handed axe, and will have job quests available on release. The job will have you weakening beasts in order to capture them, with up to 50 types ready to be tamed. Up to three tamed beasts can fight by your side at once. Beastmaster will also include a Bestiary and a Crucible, with the job set to arrive during the Patch 7.5x series.
