Famitsu: Pokémon Pokopia Sells 500,000 Physical Copies In Four Days

Every Thursday, Famitsu releases a weekly chart breaking down how physical boxed games and hardware sold in Japan. This week’s chart covers March 2 to 8, and reveals exactly how Pokémon Pokopia performed in Japan after its March 5 launch. With over 540,000 sales, it was a huge start for Pokémon‘s first Switch 2 spin-off release, knocking off Resident Evil Requiem from the top spot with magnitudes more sales this past week.

Nintendo confirmed late last night that Pokémon Pokopia had surpassed one million units sold in Japan within the first four days of its launch, which just so happens to align with Famitsu’s tracking. This means we can create a rough estimate at the digital-physical split, and it’s looking somewhat 50-50! Globally, Pokémon Pokopia has already sold over 2.2 million units within the same time frame, with supply issues limiting its potential audience in some markets.
