Final Fantasy XIV Adds Beastmaster Job And Quests Tied To Evercold

A couple of months ago, we reported details on the announced Beastmaster job for Final Fantasy XIV. Today, the job has officially been added to the game, with the additional content in the 7.56 patch bringing players as close as possible to the Evercold expansion narrative.

The Beastmaster is a limited job and melee DPS that shares gear used by Monk and Samurai. It has no corresponding class and begins at level 1 to a maximum of 50. To access this job, players need to have completed the main scenario quest “The Ultimate Weapon” and be a Disciple of War or Magic level 50. With this job, players can befriend Beasts, add them to a Master’s Bestiary, and then use them in battle. However, as a limited job, there are some restrictions:

  • Beastmasters cannot execute role actions.
  • Beastmasters gain greater experience from completing FATEs than other jobs do. *Unlike Blue Mage, no bonuses are granted to experience from battling enemies in the open world.
  • When playing as a Beastmaster, it is possible to participate in duties with other players in preformed or unrestricted parties. However, the following duties will remain inaccessible: Duty Roulettes, The Forbidden Land, Eureka / The Bozjan Southern Front / The Occult Crescent / Variant Dungeons / Criterion Dungeons / Ultimate Raids / Stone, Sky, Sea, Squadron Missions, Deep Dungeons, PvP including duels, Hall of the Novice.
  • Limited jobs may only accept the following quests: Job quests. Quests available to all jobs and classes.
  • Retainers cannot be assigned the Beastmaster job.

The Crucible of the Unbroken is another exclusive feature for the Beastmaster job. This will be a solo game mode where players will make use of the Beastmaster abilities across a board layout with several different Battlegrounds full of enemies and bosses. This Crucible will be accompanied by Rankings, starting with Season 1 on September 24, which brings additional special rewards.

Beastmaster was not the only content added with 7.56; new Main Scenario Quests have been added, with the first Quest titled ” A Winter’s Dream.” It’s up to players to discover the next quests that will move forward to the Evercold expansion next year. Other additional content that this patch brough are new quests available for New Game+, new housing items, a new PvP Series, quality-of-life fixes, and more. You can read all the patch details here.
