Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Sells 2 Million Copies In 24 Hours

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced sold more than two million copies worldwide within its first 24 hours after launching on July 9. The heavily upgraded remake has also broken recent franchise records, outperforming the day-one results of recent entries such as Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which attracted one million players on its release day.

The game also set the highest Steam launch in Assassin’s Creed history, reaching a peak of 99,451 concurrent players. On top of that, it was the most-watched game on Twitch on its launch day.

In addition, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has received positive reviews from both players and critics. The game currently has an 85% score on OpenCritic and an 84% score on Metacritic, showing that the remake has been well received by critics as well as both longtime fans of the series and new players. GameObserver’s review of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced gave the game a score of nine out of 10, stating, “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a way forward for the floundering franchise. It’s not perfect, but it is beautiful, engaging, and the definitive way to experience Edward Kenway’s story.”

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is a complete remake of the 2013 classic Assassin’s Creed Black Flag. Along with upgraded visuals, the game introduces several major gameplay changes, including the removal of all modern-day sci-fi sequences, a new parry-based combat system, seamless naval-to-land exploration, and a brand-new endgame chapter focused on Blackbeard.

In other news, Ubisoft has confirmed that the original 2013 version of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag will remain available for purchase alongside Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, as the remake does not include the multiplayer mode or the Freedom Cry DLC. In addition, the company is reportedly developing a remake of the original Assassin’s Creed.
