Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has not even launched yet, but it is already making a big impact on Steam. The remake is off to a strong start, beating several recent Ubisoft games in pre-orders and setting impressive records before its July 9 release.
According to industry analyst Rhys Elliot of Alinea Analytics, the game has already sold more than 300,000 copies on Steam through pre-orders alone. Those sales have generated around $14 million in gross revenue, while the game has also been added to more than 1.2 million Steam wishlists.
The remake has already reached another major milestone by beating the total lifetime Steam sales of Skull & Bones, even before its official launch. While the comparison only covers Steam, it is still an impressive result for the remake. These numbers are also much stronger than those of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Steam pre-orders for Black Flag Resynced are currently tracking 5.39 times higher than Assassin’s Creed Shadows at the same point, two days before release.
The next target will be to beat the overall sales of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which currently stand at 5.7 million copies sold. Of those sales, 53.6% came from PlayStation 5, 23.8% from Steam, and the remaining 23.6% from Xbox Series X|S. The remake clearly has a good chance of reaching that milestone.
As mentioned earlier, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled to launch on July 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
