Weekly Mobile & Gacha Roundup: Fate/Grand Order Rules Over The August Charts | GameObserver

Once again, many gacha players’ eyes are fixated on the Holy Grail War. Nevertheless, Konami’s JRPG comeback and the latest entry of a popular Korean mobile game series are also making waves across the ranks. This week’s charts cover August 10 to 14 and are based on estimated top-grossing rankings from Sensor Tower and AppMagic. Note that the figures below combine estimates across both Android and iOS.

Although the early hype for the Honkai: Star Rail collaboration might’ve slowed down, the Fate series still managed to top both global and Japan’s charts this week. Over on the global server, the spending surge seems to be boosted by the ‘BB Presents☆Celeb Summer Experience,’ taking players to AD 2030 Dubai and tying into the Ordeal Call III: Archetype Inception plot. Meanwhile, over on the Japanese version, Masters are still being pampered by the 11th Anniversary celebration and the ‘Chaldea’s Great Southern Sea Showdown’ summer event until September 2, which offers eye-catching swimsuit skins for Beni-Enma and Kingprotea.

Speaking of Japan’s gacha chart, another legacy series quickly leaped into the Top 2 following its August 7th launch over there. JRPG fans are given the chance to rally 108 (and more) Stars of Destiny and stand up against Scarlet Moon Empire’s tyranny once more with Suikoden STAR LEAP. Perhaps following in Octopath Travelers‘ footsteps, the mobile game stayed true to its original PS1 pixel art visuals and six-character party, no doubt bringing pure nostalgia to followers of the classic series. Across the sea, sweet cravings have taken over the South Korean chart with CookieRun: Crumble, which released on July 30th, dominating the region and dethroning NIKKE from the top spot for once.

Suikoden STAR LEAP’s August launch has been warmly welcomed by the series’ fans in Japan.

Last month’s breakout newcomer hololive Dreams appears to finally be cooling off; nevertheless, it still sits nicely in sixth place in Japan. Considering it’s also available on Steam, it’s highly likely the game is still pulling in a massive and dedicated player base on PC. Here’s how major mobile and gacha games performed across key regions for the week of August 10 to 14.
