Warframe: Prologue To Tau Quest And Taubound Event Guide

For Warframe fans, the Tau system seemed like a distant dream, something that they wished the Digital Extremes team would add someday. At this year’s Tennocon, DE not only confirmed that players will be visiting Tau, but also that it will become its own new system with new planets to explore. The new main quest, titled Prologue to Tau, gives players a new short story to get their Vessels ready for the Tau journey, while a limited event, Epoch Operation: Taubound, brings special rewards to accompany the quest.

How to start the Prologue to Tau

Before starting the Prologue to Tau quest, you will need to have completed the latest main quests, The Hex and The Old Peace.

To begin this journey, head to your Quest Log if it wasn’t added automatically and accept the Prologue to Tau quest. Then head to your navigation console and select the Sanctum Anatomica hub in Deimos. Once in the Sanctum, head to the back door to the Dark Refractory, where you will find your Operator ready to talk to your Drifter.

Warframe relay
In the Kronia Relay, continue to the end of the station’s hall to find your Vessel. In front of the Vessel, you’ll find the customization terminal.

After speaking with your Operator, you will be transported to a memory. We won’t share any spoilers as to what happens in those memories. After you are done with the memories sequence, head to the Kronia Relay on Saturn. Here, it’s time to use the Vessels that were added during the Tennocon event. Customize and prepare your Vessel, then on your navigation console select the Eris Dermacrust node on Eris. In this mission, you will take out infected enemies to feed the Praghasa, the mothership that will take us to Tau.

When you have completed this node, you are done with the Prologue quest, for now. The quest will remain active, with step one marked as Lua, the second as Vessel, hinting that we are not done yet with the preparations, and a new objective might be added before the Tau expansion.

Taubound Event Guide

Warframe Eris
Eris will be both the quest and event main planet.

We are not done yet with the Praghasa; as a mothership, it requires a lot of fuel to work. It will take the entire Warframe community to get her engines running. This will be accomplished in a community event. To access this event, players need to have completed the Vor’s Prize quest, which is the second main quest in the game.

The Praghasa needs Moonflesh as fuel to work, and you can farm this resource by defeating enemies on Eris. Moonflesh can be acquired from any of the nodes there, with enemies dropping 2 Moonflesh on standard, and 3 on Steel Path. Additionally, you can acquire 50 to 75 Moonflesh from the event’s Alerts, which you can find on your navigation menu. Make sure to complete these available Alerts before going hunting on Eris.

The community’s effort will unlock special cosmetics depending on how high the percentage goes.

To use Moonflesh and contribute to the community goal to power up the Praghasa, you will need to trade with the Praghasa directly. You can find the Praghasa on the left side of Eris on your navigation map. Rewards include:

  • Contegorus Armor Set
  • Haalvu Rifle
  • Archon Shards
  • Legendary Core
  • Cosmetics
  • Floofs
  • And more

The Epoch Operation is live now until November 17. The Prologue to Tau quest, however, is permanent and will continue to be available after the event ends. For more Warframe guides, stay tuned to GameObserver.
