Warframe is known in the free-to-play space as one of the best consumer-friendly options in the market thanks to its friendly monetization system. One of the best examples of this is how it offers a Battle Pass-like secondary progression system, all for free. This system is known as Nightwave, which runs for approximately four months, bringing 30 rewards and an additional free store.
Nightwave is normally managed by Nora, a radio host. However, Amir will be taking Nora’s place for this one with Amir’s Shockwave, and brings new 1999-inspired items, such as the Drippy Floof, Globakk Syandana, and the Kaneshell Atomicycle Regalia. To level up the Nightwave, you have to complete challenges specific to the event that can be found on the Nightwave console of your Orbiter. Players earn Nightwave Credits that can be used in the “Cred Offerings” section of the Nightwave menu for additional blueprints, cosmetics, and more.
This update also brings a Dungeons & Dragons-inspired minigame, which was announced back at Tennocon, called Fables & Frontiers. This minigame takes place over the POM-2 terminal, but you can speak to Amir about it in the new Höllvania Mall room, The Dominion of Höllvandeim. There, besides setting and resetting options for Fables & Frontiers, you can browse new and previous rewards from Amir’s wares. To participate in F&F, however, you need to complete The Hex Quest, achieve Rank 5 with The Hex Syndicate, and a “Close” relationship level with Amir. No worries on rushing; Fables & Frontiers is a permanent addition to the game. The Nightwave is the only limited-time element in this update.
Additionally, for fans of the Warframe soundtrack, a new On-lyne track has hit the game and music streaming platforms, as well as new Fables & Frontiers soundtracks. The tradition of Digital Extremes working with the community continues, with new TennoGen cosmetics available in the market, as well as the new Shaoshi Collection of cosmetics for Baruuk.
