Umamusume: Pretty Derby has introduced a new story event called Flying Run-Up as part of the game’s 1st Anniversary that lasts from March 12 to March 23. The event brings several Support Cards and rewards, as well as a new banner for Trainees. You can also obtain Rainbow Shards and a lot of Carrats with Event Points. Unlike most events, you can obtain multiple Support Cards for free by progressing in the event.
Flying Run-Up Event Rewards
The story event features 10 episodes, which gradually become available as you keep obtaining Event Points. Watching these episodes can unlock a new concert song, as well as the Mejiro Bright [Little By Little] SSR Support Card and Special Week [At The End Of The Day] SR Support Card.
The event features a points ladder and a prize roulette. The prize roulette features Carrats as rewards, and you can get up to three copies of each of the free event Support Cards from it. Note that you’ll need Prize Coins to roll on the roulette, which can be obtained by completing Career Runs and daily missions.
Event Support Cards For Flying Run-Up
You can obtain two free Support Cards as part of the Flying Run-Up event. The Mejiro Bright SSR card is pretty good for Long races. On the other hand, the Special Week SR Support Card provides excellent skills for Pace Chasers. Even though it is a Power Support Card, it also provides great Stamina stats.
Other than the free Support Cards, you can also roll on the Support Card banner during the event to obtain some other excellent cards. For example, the Narita Top Road [Peachy Silhuette] is a great SSR Speed card that can help you get the Firm Course Menace skill, which drastically boosts your Uma’s performance on Firm ground.
Admira Vega [Aim For The Brightest] is a Guts SR Support Card that’s useful for End Closers. Overall, the Support Card line-up for this banner is excellent and can greatly boost your career runs if you get any of them.
Other than Support Cards, there’s an ongoing Trainee banner which features a rate up for Kitasan Black and Matikanetannhauser. You’ll be able to do 10 free scouts on the trainee banner until March 18.

Several Trainees receive an event bonus during the Flying Run-Up story event. You can greatly increase the number of Event Points you get if you train or use the Support Cards featuring any of the featured trainees.
