Kitasan Black is a strong front runner in Umamusume Pretty Derby. You can use her for longer races to get a good lead at the start, and maintain it throughout the race if you have enough stamina. Our guide will recommend the best support cards and skills you should aim for to get the best out of her.
Kitasan Black Best Stats

- Speed: 1000+
- Stamina: 1000+
- Power: 700
- Guts: 300
- Wit: 600
Kitasan Black is a front runner who performs the best in long and medium tracks. However, you can also run her as a pace chaser if you improve her aptitude. Her unique skill Victory Cheer! works best with the front runner style to increase her velocity, so you should prefer that. However, both medium and long tracks require a lot of stamina, so you won’t lose speed near the end. For medium tracks, you need at least 700-800, but for longer tracks, go as high as 1000. For competitive races, you may even raise it to 1200.
You need speed to win as well, so aim for 1000 in both medium and long tracks. 900 is the bare minimum to focus on. You need power for acceleration, and generally, 600-700 is enough for her, as you won’t be overtaking runners a lot if you are leading from the front. Wits is required so your Umamusume can activate skills reliably, but you won’t need to worry about positioning much as a front runner, so 600 is a good number. Since Kitasan Black has a good growth rate in speed and stamina, you can easily build her to get these stats.
Kitasan Black Best Support Cards And Skills

You need the Super Creek SSR stamina card for Kitasan Black, as the Swinging Maestro skill will really help her a lot, or you will lose your endurance in the second half. You can also equip the Rice Shower SSR power card to ensure you get that skill even if the event doesn’t trigger for Super Creek during your career. For Stamina, you can also equip the Mejiro McQueen stamina SSR card, which gives you the Cooldown skill. This skill recovers your stamina in long races, so if you plan to build Kitasan for longer tracks, you shouldn’t ignore it.
The Silence Suzuka speed SSR card can help you maintain your lead using the Unrestrained Skill. This card also has some general front runner skills to help Kitasan Black get in a good position or increase her speed. The Twin Turbo Speed SSR card is also another alternate, as it has a similar skill called Taking the Lead. For Wit, you can use either the Mihono Bourbon SSR card, which has the same Taking the Lead skill, or the Seiun Sky Wit SSR, which has the Vanguard Spirit skill, which also works similarly if you are leading by a large margin. You can also equip Riko Kashimoto to get a passive stamina boost during recreation, and you also get Rushing Gale! skill to increase acceleration.
