The Blood Of Dawnwalker Tops Steam Charts With Good Review Scores

The Blood of Dawnwalker has gotten off to an excellent start. The ambitious RPG from Rebel Wolves, a studio formed by veterans of The Witcher 3, is now sitting at number one in the overall Steam ranking. The game has climbed to the top spot on Steam, making it the best-selling title on the platform right now, with the free-to-play Apex Legends sitting below it.

The Blood of Dawnwalker had a lot to prove. It is a new franchise, it arrived in a month with several big game releases, and it was always going to be compared with The Witcher 3, as many of the developers behind The Blood of Dawnwalker previously worked on the hugely successful Witcher series.

And it is not just Steam where the game is doing well. The Blood of Dawnwalker currently has a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam, while critics have also given the game strong scores. It currently has an average score of 83 on Metacritic, which came as a big relief to the developers. That puts it above the original The Witcher, which has a score of 81, and only three points behind The Witcher: Enhanced Edition at 86. The Witcher 2 has a score of 88, while The Witcher 3 is higher at 92.

Commenting on the positive reviews the game has received, Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz, creative director of the game, said, “Waiting for the reviews to come in has been nerve wrecking to say the least, but they’re finally (mostly) here! Great relief, can’t wait to see you all play the game and to hear your thoughts! It’s a privilege to work with such a talented Team.”
