Players who are dropping onto the Fortnite island today will likely notice a large, glowing red rift in the sky above. This might seem small to you if you’re unaware of Fortnite‘s lore, but it’s actually a giant indication of a major story development coming to the battle royale very soon – the return of The Seven.
For those unfamiliar, The Seven are a group of Fortnite original heroes who exist to protect the Zero Point, which is the heart of most realities in Fortnite lore, along with their ultimate goal to destroy the time loop that keeps us on the island. They first arrived on the island in Chapter 1 Season 4, as Seven member The Visitor landed on the island from another reality as part of their mission to protect the island. They’ve been absent from the story since Chapter 4, but the current Chapter 7 Season 1 will see their return in a big way, and it’s all going to come from that rift in the sky.
Changing from lore discussion to speaking the facts, we know from Fortnite‘s Love and Legends event roadmap that The Seven will have some appearance in-game coming on February 23. The end of the roadmap also suggests that the future of the chapter will also see more developments with The Order and The Dark Voyager, with these two being this season’s main representations of heroes The Seven and antagonists the Last Reality respectively.
Exactly what will come from the mysterious red rift in the sky remains to be seen, but what we do know is that The Seven are back in Fortnite. With many fans feeling that the seasons of Fortnite that featured The Seven had some of the game’s best story-telling moments, it’s a promising time to be a Fortnite player for those invested in the narrative.
