After officially leaving Early Access on July 10, Palworld is seeing a major rise on Steam, with Version 1.0 passing 850,000 players online at the same time during its launch weekend. This new peak has made Palworld one of the most-played game of the year so far and has placed it among the top 15 biggest player peaks in Steam history.
This isn’t the first time Palworld has broken records. When it first launched in Early Access in 2024, it reached around 2.1 million concurrent players, the third-highest peak in Steam history. Now, with more than 850,000 players online at once, Version 1.0 has secured another place among Steam’s all-time highest player peaks.

It’s worth noting that the game had already passed 40 million players across all platforms before the full Version 1.0 launch. As a way of thanking the community, Pocketpair also decided to keep the base price at $29.99 instead of raising it for the full release. In addition, the game is available with a 30% discount on Steam, bringing the price down to $20.99 until July 23, while it remains included with Xbox Game Pass from day one.
Pocketpair also released a long list of changes with Version 1.0. Players can now visit Sunreach, a new floating island area in the sky. The update also adds 72 new Pals, bringing the total number of Pals in the game to 287. The story has also been changed, with the new main path now focused more closely on the mystery of the World Tree. Other changes include a higher level cap, rising from 65 to 80, Pal mutations, improved tower boss battles, and much more. These changes give returning players more things to do while also making the game easier for new players to get into.
