Following on from the record-breaking success of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie this past weekend, Nintendo just revealed a new limited-time bundle to strike while the iron is hot on the Mario Galaxy brand. From April 12 to May 9, selected retailers in North America will be offering a Nintendo Switch 2 and Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 bundle that saves you $20 on the price of the games.
Nintendo describes April as a “cosmic-sized month for Mario” in their announcement promoting the upcoming bundle release, and specifies some of the retailers that will be offering the bundle. Stores that will stock the console bundle include Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target and Walmart, with the option for customers to have their game physical or digital.

The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 bundle upgrades the original releases to enhance resolution, improve UI, add new Storybook Chapters along with an Assist mode and even more. The Switch 2 free update for these games bumps the resolutions up to 4K and also adds Joy-Con 2 mouse control options.
Adding a new Switch 2 bundle to their spring line-up is an interesting move for Nintendo, as it guarantees that, for the time being, the price of the console is going to remain stable. Price increases for the Switch 2 have long been speculated, especially with PlayStation and Xbox hiking prices on their consoles.

Nintendo has yet to adjust their Switch 2 price to match the turbulent global economy, and now seemingly won’t be doing until at least the Mario Galaxy bundles takes back off on May 9. However, Nintendo will soon be changing the prices of their physical and digital games in the US to match European pricing models. This won’t increase physical game prices, but will make digital games cost less. This comes as the company cuts production of its latest console by 30% due to lower demand than anticipated in the US.
The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 Nintendo Switch 2 bundle should keep Mario fans entertained for a while, but Nintendo are overdue their next big 3D Mario adventure by quite some years. Perhaps we’ll hear more from gaming’s most iconic plumber later this summer, if Nintendo decide to finally give us a full Direct presentation!
