Mafia: The Omertà Collection Announced, Mafia: Definitive Edition Gets Native PS5 And Xbox Series X|S Upgrade | GameObserver

2K Games and Hangar 13 have now announced Mafia: The Omertà Collection, a new bundle featuring all four Mafia games and a current-generation update for Mafia: Definitive Edition. The announcement also explains the new Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) listing that recently appeared for Mafia: Definitive Edition, which specifically mentioned PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

The game was previously only playable on both consoles through backward compatibility, but it will now receive a proper native version when the collection arrives tomorrow, August 14. The biggest improvement is 60 FPS gameplay. Mafia: Definitive Edition is limited to 30 FPS on PS4 and Xbox One, and that limit remains when those versions are played through backward compatibility on newer consoles. The native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S release will finally increase that to 60 FPS alongside other technical improvements.

Mafia: The Omertà Collection includes Mafia: The Old Country Definitive Edition, featuring the new “Man of Honor” expansion and Deluxe Edition content; Mafia: Definitive Edition with its current-generation improvements; Mafia II: Definitive Edition with all previously released DLC; and Mafia III: Definitive Edition, including all of its post-launch DLC expansions.

There is also good news if you already own Mafia: Definitive Edition. Players who own the PS4 or Xbox One version will receive a free digital upgrade to the native PS5 or Xbox Series X|S version when it launches. As for pricing, 2K Games has not announced one fixed standard price for Mafia: The Omertà Collection, with prices depending on the platform and region.

On Steam, players who already own one or more of the included games will automatically get the best available price through “Complete Your Collection.” PS4 and Xbox One owners of Mafia: Definitive Edition, Mafia II: Definitive Edition, or Mafia III: Definitive Edition will also receive a discount on the collection for the same platform, while those who already own Mafia: The Old Country on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S will get an even bigger discount.
