The current season of Fortnite is entirely themed around the fierce rivalry between the evil Ice King and heroic The Foundation from superhero group The Seven, and players get to battle it out between them. Choosing between siding with either Team Foundation or Team Ice King, Fortnite gamers have been earning points since the season launched last month to support their side, and the first act is finally over – with a decisive victory for Team Ice King!
Leading by more than 5 million points, the Ice King’s dedicated legions have maxed out his Act I progression meter, giving Team Ice King players full bragging rights. Perhaps more excitingly though, the Ice King’s Vault Key is now available to those dedicated to the frigid leader, and it lets players into his vault at the Ice Castle.
The Vault Key can be found just outside of Frigid Fortress, in a small turret off to the side (see above). Once you’ve claimed the key, be sure to take care as you walk across the bridge south of Frigid Fortress to find the vault.
You can open the Ice King’s Vault by interacting with the floor in the Vault room when you’ve got the key. You can see the location below, and once you’ve opened the Vault you can drop into it and you’ll be surrounded by rare chests, slurp barrels and a lot of loot to get yourself ready for the rest of the match
This is just the first act of the Showdown season, and there’s still all to play for going forwards. Team Foundation isn’t that far behind, so those who side with the Ice King shouldn’t get comfy as things could change at any minute.
