The battle royale of endless collaborations is, once again, getting a crossover that’s sure to cause a shockwave of discussion online. To be more specific, the Pixar-original world of Toy Story is making its debut appearance in Fortnite, with two major characters releasing this Friday – and with one significant omission.
The rival duo of Buzz Lightyear and Emperor Zurg will be arriving in the first wave of Toy Story cosmetics later this week, along with matching accessories and even an Alien sidekick. Buzz’s skin has a removable helmet and glow-in-the-dark reactivity, whilst Emperor Zurg’s skin features an incredibly cool-looking cape. Sadly though, it seems there’s no Woody just yet.
Both characters will receive a matching pickaxe, whilst Buzz can have his signature wings as a glider when descending on the Fortnite island. He uses these wings in his dedicated emote too, whilst Zurg’s emote sees him firing his cannon at his enemies. Finally, any modern Fortnite collab wouldn’t be complete without their matching shoes, with the Aliens receiving their own Kicks set for players to wear.

Fortnite is no stranger to Pixar collaborations, with this actually being their second, following The Incredibles collaboration back in 2024. The past crossover proved incredibly popular, likely in part paving the way for the upcoming Toy Story one we’re seeing now.
Epic Games has an ongoing partnership with Disney, which likely makes these licensing agreements easier to reach between the parties. Disney has invested $1.5 billion in the company behind Fortnite, with them planning a “games and entertainment universe” to be built within Fortnite itself. Part of this collaboration involves the regular appearance of new Disney characters within Fortnite, with appearances from the Disney Villains of old to even a recent Hercules item bundle.
The Toy Story bundle will be available in Fortnite later this week. Pricing and bundle options are currently unknown, but we’ll update this article when we know more. You’ll likely need to start saving now, as there’s less V-Bucks available to earn than ever following recent cuts! Check back often to GameObserver for the latest in gaming news.
