It’s December, which means it’s time for the Fortnite Winterfest! Whilst the 2025 version of the classic Fortnite holiday seasonal celebration has yet to be formally revealed, we know it’s coming and we know it has to be soon.
We’re here to break down everything we know about this year’s Fortnite Winterfest, combining past year precedents with leaks and official news to create the clearest picture possible about when we can start opening our Fortnite gifts!
When does Fortnite‘s 2025 Winterfest start and end?

The annual Fotnite Winterfest always starts in December and ends in January, but the timing has fluctuated in the past. For a while it started in the second week of December each year, but last year changed things and started the festivities later on December 20.
The second week of December is almost over and there’s been no Winterfest yet, meaning we can deduce it’s likely coming to Fortnite at the end of December’s third week, like it did last year. As such, that means we’re probably looking at a December 19 start date for Fortnite‘s 2025 Winterfest event. Assuming it does follow the same trends as past years, that means we can also expect it to end around January 6.
What collaborations will be included in Fortnite Winterfest this year?

There’s an extensive list of possible collaboration cosmetics that will either be gifts or purchasable this Fortnite Winterfest, and just to be thorough we’re going to list them all. Please note this list is speculative, but based on insider information as compiled by HypeX over on X (formerly Twitter).
The expected collaborations are:
- Baby Groot (as a sidekick)
- Back to the Future’s Dr. Emmett Brown
- Bleach
- Harry Potter (including a Hogwarts student skin)
- Home Alone (rumor)
- Snow Hatsune Miku (her winter-themed variant)
- SpongeBob SquarePants
Whilst South Park and Krypto the Superdog are also anticipated upcoming collaborations, it’s unknown if they’ll be part of Winterfest or coming later.
What changes will Winterfest be making to Fortnite?

A lot, probably! The files for the iconic Winterfest Cabin were added back in with this week’s update which kickstarted Fortnite OG Season 7, meaning Epic is likely preparing for the cozy festivities of the cabin once again. The update also added new storm shapes such as a Christmas tree and a snowman, giving even the deadly cages of the island’s walls a festive and fun tweak.
The map is also expected to have its snow coverage expand as the Winterfest celebrations begin and continue. This will apply to both the standard Battle Royale mode map as well as the OG Season 7 map – fitting given its ties to the Ice King! If the extent of the Harry Potter collaboration rumors are true then we may also be getting broomsticks too, but take this with a grain of salt (or snow).
And that’s everything we either know or can comfortably predict about the upcoming 2025 Fortnite Winterfest! If you want to hear more on the latest Fortnite updates and new collaborations, written by real humans, then check back often to GameObserver!
