Dressmaker Announces Release Window During Wholesome Direct 2026

The developers of Dressmaker (elyaradine, raithza, oomsarel) announced that their game will be available around September 2026. The game will be published by Cozy Lives, and will launch on Steam, where users can also wishlist it. This was confirmed during the Wholesome Direct, where they also presented details about the gameplay. Players can engage with several creative options to make fabulous dresses suited for various events. The game is inspired by real-life dressmaking, according to the developers.

Notebook in dresmaker
The notebook with the dress design is shown in Dressmaker.

The preview shows several gameplay aspects, including the clients visiting your shop and requesting specific styles that might match the occasion. You will then design the dress in your notebook. You can see a note pinned on the left side of the notebook detailing what your customer is looking for. You will also see some other requirements such as quality and budget. Below this note, you can choose the design for the components of the dress.

You can make a rough sketch to visualize what it will look like when you finish it. You will also decide the colors you want on your dress here. The gameplay shows that the game pays attention to detail, as you will be taking the measurements of your clients and adjusting the mannequins accordingly.

New fabrics dressmaker
New fabrics can be purchased at the Emporium in Dressmaker.

You will also assemble the pieces on the mannequin and pin them together to finish the look. Some other details are also shown where you can cut fabrics and sew them precisely in the sewing machine. You can attach accessories over the dress to make it look fashionable. The game has several patterns and accessories available that you can purchase from the emporium.

Dressmaker comes from Elyaradine, and has only four developers working on the game. They also have a free prototype available at their official website, if you want to try it out. You may even choose to pay for the prototype demo if you wish. The demo gives you a small hands-on preview of the full release. For more indie and cozy game news, stay tuned to GameObserver.
