You might know of Cryptmaster from it being an excellent, unique, typing-based dungeon crawler or, alternatively, from trailers and social media posts with that weird, horned skull necromancer guy who speaks with an unforgettable timbre. At today’s Akupara Direct, Paul Hart and Lee Williams, through their horrifying necromancer mascot, unveiled Bonespire—a puzzle/simulator game based entirely inside the confines of a medieval, magical tower, which seems to be all the rage these days.
The footage shown comes from very early in development, pre-Alpha to be exact, but even at this stage, it is sure to pique the curiosity of those who enjoy the more out-there side of simulation titles. In the tower, players will be able to forge magical artifacts, tend to their garden with definitely not normal plants, brew potions, decipher ancient scrolls, and summon demons, all the while the tower will react and change in accordance with their decisions.

The game also features a companion, so that you won’t feel too lonely in the secluded tower. Unfortunately, it’s not the necromancer himself. Instead, it’s a “cheeky homunculus” grown from his dark essence. The bat-like creature seems rather measly, and though he’ll surely be of great help in a space so quiet, the one line of dialogue he gets already has him complaining. Which is presumably why, in the trailer, he quickly gets tossed out the window. Rest in peace cheeky homunculus. We barely knew you.
More info is soon to come, though for now the game can be wishlisted on the platform of your choosing. Bonespire is currently set for a PC release across Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
