CD Projekt RED’s New IP Hadar Enters Pre-Production

CD Projekt RED has been working on several projects for some time, and one of them is still quite mysterious but also very interesting. This project is called Hadar, and new details about it have recently been revealed.

During the company’s latest financial results conference for 2025, CD Projekt RED officially confirmed that Hadar has moved past the concept stage and has now entered pre-production.

The company explained, “The team has established the foundations of this entirely new IP. Now, we are designing specific elements that might be included in the game, creating multiple prototypes, and implementing them directly in Unreal Engine.”

This means the game is still far from release, as full development has not started yet. A large part of the studio is currently focused on The Witcher 4, and it is likely that the team will later move on to Cyberpunk 2 after that.

This is as much as we’re getting for now

The reason why Project Hadar is getting so much attention is simple. Unlike The Witcher and Cyberpunk, which are based on existing worlds, Hadar is a completely new original IP created from scratch.

This brings both challenges and opportunities. On one hand, the developers at CD Projekt RED will need to prove that they can build a new world without relying on existing material. On the other hand, they will have full creative freedom, with no limits, to design the game’s world, story, and style as they want.

Because of this, Project Hadar is expected to gain a lot of attention from fans of the studio. The company is known for high-quality games, so expectations will be very high. Fans will likely expect the same level of quality, which could make Hadar one of the most important projects for the studio.

Right now, not much is known about the project, but as more news and rumors emerge, we’ll make sure to keep you updated here at GameObserver.
