Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update Adds New PS5 Pro And Switch 2 Features Today

It has been a long road for Assassin’s Creed Shadows since it launched over a year ago back in March 2025. After a bunch of updates and even a story expansion, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is today releasing Title Update 1.1.10, and there’s still some significant changes coming up for the Feudal Japan-set RPG.

From today at 14:00 UTC (that’s 7 AM PST and 10 AM EST), Assassin’s Creed Shadows will be receiving three major changes – and two of them are platform exclusive. Firstly, players that don’t own the Claws of Awaji expansion will be able to find in the wild the formerly exclusive DLC weapon: the Bo! These are often called “six-foot staff”, a martial arts weapon that’s effectively a long stick.

Whilst these used to only be available for those playing the expansion, now all players can find Bo on enemies, in chests or from vendors in-game, after they’ve found at least one Unique Bo in their adventures.

The Bo staff weapon type is now available to all players of Assassin’s Creed Shadows.

As for the console specific updates, we’ll start with the PS5 Pro. Owners of Sony’s enhanced and now significantly more expensive home console will see Assassin’s Creed Shadows updated to support the new and improved PSSR 2.  The upscaling technology from Sony recently received a major revamp, sharpening details to be clearer than ever before and still offering hugely boosted performance. Assassin’s Creed Shadows joins the 50+ other games that support PSSR and are gradually making the leap to PSSR 2.

Finally, for players on the Nintendo Switch 2, there’s an entirely new way to play as dual-protagonists Naoe or Yasuke in the world of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Mouse and keyboard support is here, meaning you can connect your compatible PC hardware to your Switch 2 and play in any way you’d like, expanding options even further from the Joy-Con 2 or Switch 2 Pro Controller.

As with any patch, Title Update 1.1.10 also comes with a wealth of bug fixes, gameplay tweaks, UI fixes, quest adjustments and more. The Assassin’s Creed Shadows update releases later today on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Switch 2, Steam, PC and Mac. We’ll be sure to keep reporting on all things Assassin’s Creed as Ubisoft pushes its franchise into the future, including the upcoming live-action adaptation.
