There are still some remakes on the horizon for 2026, including the most anticipated of all, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. At the Zelda 40th anniversary direct, the Nintendo team already showed us some gameplay of the remake. In a new overview trailer, the team goes into more detail about the story and features, including old and new additions.
In this new overview trailer, we are guided by a narrator through the game’s narrative. We see how Navi will lead Link through his journey, which includes meeting The Great Deku Tree, learning about the Triforce and the antagonist force, Ganondorf. The trailer shows how the story expands across time, with an older Link taking over the narrative, and we have a new peek at how some of the characters look now in this new version of the game.

However, new visuals aren’t the only thing coming with this remake. On the gameplay side, Ocarina of Time is bringing a new feature called Hall of Fallen Foes. This new area seems to be a museum-like room where you can learn more about enemies you defeat, and you can engage in rematches against them. The team shared more melodies played on the popular Ocarina as well, which you can get and use in real life, and new details on how the Zelda Notes app will work.
Additionally, there will be two new The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time amiibo2 figures launching in 2027. These will be young Link and Zelda, which unlock special in-game masks. Existing amiibo figures from the Legend of Zelda series will also provide useful rewards when tapped during gameplay.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time releases next November 5 for the Nintendo Switch 2. For more Zelda content, stay tuned to GameObserver.
