We’re all waiting for more news on Splatoon Raiders, the upcoming and first ever Splatoon spinoff exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2. The game was randomly announced with no build up or warning in June last year, and Nintendo have been silent on the release ever since. However, an updated trademark spotted by Mike Odyssey over on X (formerly Twitter) shows that Nintendo might be planning to do something with the game later this month.
The updated trademark can be seen filed with the US Patent and Trademark Office, and now lists a publication date of February 17. Whilst it could still mean nothing, it seems more likely that something to do with Splatoon Raiders will likely be released on that same day that the trademark is set to be published. Mike’s last two trademark discoveries did eventually materalize into reveals, so we wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo finally tells us more about Splatoon Raiders sometime this month. It would also align with the time of year that Nintendo usually showcases their big games for the year, with February being a common month for major Nintendo Direct showcases or game information drops. If Splatoon Raiders is coming this year, it’s time to get the marketing gears turning!

So far, all we know about Splatoon Raiders is that it’s a single-player spinoff game that places us in the position of a mechanic, exploring the mysterious ‘Spirhalite Islands’ with pop idol trio Deep Cut. All other details are purely speculative based on analysis of the tiny trailer we had last summer, so we can’t wait to finally stop theorising and start knowing more about Splatoon Raiders.
We’ll see if we hear more about Splatoon Raiders later this month, but we think it’s about time Nintendo gave us an update. For more coverage on all things Splatoon, and everything else in the world of gaming, keep your eyes on GameObserver.
