Splatoon Raiders Might Be Close Following PEGI Rating Update

Nintendo have been remarkably quiet on the Switch 2 exclusive Splatoon Raiders. Since it was revealed back in June 2025, there have been practically no major updates on the first Splatoon series spin-off. We might finally be getting close to some news though, as Splatoon Raiders just got a PEGI age rating certification update to its store page.

These ratings typically only appear when a game is close to release, and with the year anniversary of the announcement rapidly approaching, perhaps we’re in for some news sooner rather than later.

It was first noticed by a Splatoon fan over on X (formerly Twitter), who noted that the European store page for Splatoon Raiders had been updated with a PEGI rating of 7. Using the Wayback Machine, it’s visible that this PEGI rating was left ‘TBD’ as recently as last week. This proves that Nintendo really did update the page recently as the fan suggested, but whether it’s intentional or somehow accidental remains to be seen.

In the first Splatoon spin-off, players crash land onto the Spirhalite Islands.

Given just how long it has been since Nintendo said anything about Splatoon Raiders, practically every day that passes without news is a guarantee that we’re a day closer to hearing something. The Splatoon franchise exploded from its debut on Wii U, and has since become a key member in Nintendo’s repertoire of gaming legends.

Splatoon Raiders is mixing things up, as it seems to be heavily single-player focused rather than a multiplayer shooter experience like the mainline Splatoon titles. It also features a returning idol group, as the player (taking on the role of mechanic) gets stranded with Deep Cut on the Spirhalite Islands after their helicopter is downed by a mysterious cyclone.

This isn’t actually the first time Splatoon Raiders has made headlines this year. Back in February, we reported on a mysterious trademark update! We’ll be reporting on all things Splatoon Raiders as we build up to its inevitable reappearance.
