Despite being a rather familiar face to anime fans, Aika Nakamura, Diner Aiya’s delivery girl, has actually never shown her face in the games. But thanks to the upcoming Persona 4 Revival, the The Animation original character is finally making the long-awaited jump as a tour guide of sorts to Inaba. However, SEGA‘s P-Studio revealed that it initially considered giving her an even bigger role with her own Social Link.
Speaking in Famitsu Issue 1965, Persona 4 Revival director Daisuke Yajima discussed the new Location Episodes side quest where players will be able to spend time with Aika and other locals exploring Inaba’s past. When asked whether this would work similarly to a Social Link, Yajima revealed that was actually the original idea.
“Yes. At first, at first we considered making it a Social Link,” Yajima explained. “But we also wanted to dig deeper into Inaba as a location, so we added it as a feature where you interact with Aika Nakamura while progressing.” Yajima also teased her childhood friendship with Hanako Ohtani, saying the pair’s interactions are ‘entertaining’ and something to watch out for. Meanwhile, the Location Episodes themselves will explore stories involving people living around the town, with photographs said to play an important role.
Players can even find pictures of how Inaba looked before the Protagonist arrived and discover interesting things in them. “When the game is finished, we really hope you will experience Inaba with both your eyes and your ears,” added composer Ryouta Kozuka.

As an anime-original character gets new material in Persona 4 Revival, Atlus also wants fans to know it isn’t leaving Golden‘s content behind. Producer Kazuhisa Wada specifically addressed Marie, whose story was one of the biggest additions to Persona 4 Golden — although her inclusion was met with mixed reactions from fans, to say the least.
“Marie’s story is completely intertwined with the main story, so we’ve made up our minds about that from the very beginning,” Wada said. “Please rest assured.” Wada contrasted the situation with Persona 3 Reload. When Reload was first announced in June 2023, development of The Answer DLC hadn’t actually been decided, meaning Atlus couldn’t openly present the whole project as a complete remake of Persona 3 FES. This time, however, P-Studio is committing to both the original and Golden‘s content from the get-go. That doesn’t mean everything will make the jump completely untouched, though, as the team said they had to remove the Bike Chase attacks to make the combat more coherent for the remake’s vibe.
Aika may not be joining Marie and the others with a Social Link of her own, but she’s definitely still getting a proper place in Inaba. Persona 4 Revival is set to launch on February 18, 2027, for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 release to follow on May 20.
