Daiwa Scarlet is one of the characters in Umamusume: Pretty Derby who specializes in Mile and Medium distances and can run as a Front Runner or a Pace Chaser. However, building a good Daiwa Scarlet that can win you Champion’s Meetings and Team Trials is quite a challenge due to her default skill kit.
Stats For Daiwa Scarlet (Peak Blue)
Peak Blue is the default two-star version of Daiwa Scarlet that you can get on any Trainee Banner. She has a 20% Growth Rate on Guts and a 10% Growth Rate bonus on Speed. Since she is a Mile and Medium distance runner, you won’t need that much Stamina for her unless you’re building her for Long races. If you want to build her for Long races, you’ll require legacies with relevant Sparks, since she has a B rating in it by default.
If you want to build a good Daiwa Scarlet, you’ll have to focus on her Speed and Wit. Generally, it’s a good idea to have two to three Speed cards, one Power, one Pal, and one or two Wit Cards. Maximum Priority goes to her Speed, then Wit, and then Power/Stamina. The following are what your stats should look like at the end of a Career Run:
- Speed: 1200+
- Stamina: 500+
- Power: 800+
- Guts: 400+
- Wit: 800+
Best Skills, Race Style, And Support Cards For Daiwa Scarlet (Peak Blue)
Daiwa Scarlet’s Potential Skills are quite questionable. Her Ultimate Skill, Resplendent Red Ace, activates mid-race when Daiwa Scarlet is positioned towards the front, which is rarely the case if she’s playing as a Pace Chaser. If you’re running her as a Pace Chaser, the Ultimate Skill will often activate too late or not at all to be of use.
However, if you choose to run her as a Front Runner to get good use out of her Ultimate, you’ll be missing out on the rest of her potential skills, which are more suited for Pace Chasers. Daiwa Scarlet has Race Planner, which is one of the best recovery skills for pace chasers. She also has Prepared to Pass and Stamina to Spare, which are only usable if you’re running her as a Pace Chaser.
In terms of skills, it’s best to run her as a Pace Chaser to get full use out of her Potential Skills kit. Her ultimate, even if activated, is not that useful. If you can get Mejiro Ryan or Mejiro Dober’s ultimate skill hints via Legacies for her, then that would work quite well. Taiki Shuttle’s Shooting for Victory skill is also a good ultimate skill that can be useful to Daiwa Scarlet if inherited.
Since Daiwa Scarlet lacks good Acceleration skills, you can use Fine Motion’s SSR Wit Card, which gives Speed Star, or Professor of Curvature, which can be obtained from Kitasan Black’s SSR Speed Card. Agnes Tachyon Speed SSR Support Card’s Unstoppable skill works great on Daiwa Scarlet as well, especially in the Our Grand Concert scenario.
Limited Version: Daiwa Scarlet (Nuit Etoilee de Scarlet)
Nuit Etoilee de Scarlet is the limited version of Daiwa Scarlet available in the game. Unlike the default version, she is more suited to run as a Front Runner due to her Ultimate Skill and the rest of her Potential skills.
Furthermore, the Nuit Etoilee de Scarlet version has a 20% growth bonus on Speed, as well as a 10% growth rate bonus on Wit, making her a very strong Uma for Team Trials and Champion’s Meeting. If you’re running her as a Front Runner, the Restless recovery skill gives you a lot of freedom in your choice of SSR Support Cards, since you won’t have to reserve a spot for Support Cards that provide a golden recovery skill, such as the Super Creek SSR Stamina Card.
