Overwatch Brings Stellar Blade Collaboration And New Event Pass With Midseason 5 Update

Midseason 5 has arrived at Overwatch, bringing new events, collaborations, and a new Mythic skin. One of this update’s most anticipated events is the collaboration with Stellar Blade, titled EVE Protocol. Additionally, a new event, Taking Reign, brings items and loot boxes related to the Season 5 Reign of Talon storyline.

EVE Protocol Event and Skins

Overwatch eve protocol — EVE Protocol brings fashion from the main characters of *Stellar Blade,* as well as an Ultra skin.

The collaboration with Stellar Blade includes both paid skins and items that you can earn by playing. EVE Protocol brings a free Pass with name cards, sprays, and voice lines, which you can progress through by completing challenges. All eight challenges of the event consist of completing five games, with wins granting double progress.

Skins for EVE Protocol, however, are obtained with Overwatch Coins. The EVE Protocol Mega Bundle is currently 6,900 coins, or you can get the skins individually for 1,900 and 3,500 coins for D.Va. The event is available from November 3 to November 17. The collaboration skins include:

Widowmaker – EVE – Legendary
Freja – Raven – Legendary
Soldier: 76 – Adam – Legendary
Vendetta – Tachy – Legendary

Taking Reign Event

Overwatch Taking Reign — The new Event Pass is something closer to a Battle Pass, with Premium and Free tiers.

The Taking Reign event works a bit differently than EVE Protocol, as this one is more similar to a Battle Pass and includes Premium rewards. Players can get some rewards for free in the 24-tier pass, or all for 1,000 coins. The eight challenges to level up Taking Reign consist of completing 5-20 games. As with the new Pass rules, when you purchase this Pass, it will remain with you permanently. Taking Reign is available from November 3 to December 7, and includes items such as Legendary Resurgence Doomfist, Vendetta’s new Legendary Weapon, and more.

Roadhog Mythic

Overwatch — Roadhog finally gets a Mythic!

Roadhog is getting his Mythic with the Mythic Necrotic Knight skin. The Necrotic Knight lets you build your own monster across four levels of Mythic customization:

Level 1: Rise as the Necrotic Knight in Roadhog’s base Mythic form, complete with custom effects worthy of the curse.
Level 2: Put a new face on death with Skull, Knight, and Plague Doctor-inspired helmet options.
Level 3: Change the complexion of your corruption with additional color palettes.
Level 4: Let the curse loose with ethereal skulls, claws, spectral flames, smoke, and transformative ability effects.
