It looks like Naughty Dog is really trying to do something different this time with their next project, and we’re starting to hear more about it from the people involved. Tati Gabrielle, the main actress in Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, said the game will show a “different side” of the studio.
In an interview with IGN, she explained that the team has “challenged themselves in ways of world building” and is pushing beyond what they’ve done before. Gabrielle also said that the game will excite fans, adding that it’s “a very different side of Naughty Dog that I think people are going to get really excited for.” This change feels important, especially since many fans have been asking for something new instead of more remasters and remakes.

The game was revealed at The Game Awards 2024 and is Naughty Dog’s first new IP since The Last of Us in 2013. This time, the studio is moving away from its usual realistic style and going into a full sci-fi setting. Players take control of Jordan A. Mun, a bounty hunter stranded on the planet Sempiria, in a world where space travel became advanced as early as 1986, as the story explores themes like faith and religion.
Currently, there is no release date for the game, and it is not expected to launch this year. It has reportedly been in development since 2020, and overall, it is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated upcoming titles moving forwards. As more news and rumors about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet appear, we’ll make sure to keep you updated here at GameObserver.
