Grand Theft Auto VI Extended Release Premieres On Netflix

Grand Theft Auto VI premiered a 26-minute extended gameplay release on Netflix on August 27, 2026. The premiere was so anticipated that Netflix crashed right at 3 pm EST when the premiere went live, and featured gameplay footage with extremely realistic graphics, intense gameplay such as car chases, and several questlines, such as a drug deal gone wrong.

The gameplay shown in the Netflix premiere is from the base PlayStation 5, which has many shocked at the quality of the graphics, as it was not filmed on the PlayStation 5 Pro. The environments, running at a 4K resolution, were extremely detailed.

GTA VI visuals are incredibly crisp and realistic, immersing the player in the game.

The game starts with Jason and Lucia wanting to pursue a romantic relationship; however, it is up to the player whether to pursue it. This initial decision will affect how the rest of the story plays out, immediately branching into different play experiences for the players. Managing the relationship between the two will be a large part of the game, as Jason and Lucia can get closer by completing events together, going to the mall, visiting salons, and more. It is even possible to hurt the relationship between the two, such as, for example, if they don’t reply to each other’s text messages.

GTA VI is bigger in every single way, ranging from the area to explore to the possibilities of conversations and reactions in-game. The map is double the size of the map for GTA V and triple the size of Red Dead Redemption 2’s. There will also be over 600,000 possible animations for non-playable characters, compared to GTA V’s 55,000 different variations. You can even choose how to interact with pets!

The game is said to require approximately 200 GB of storage, making it the largest Grand Theft Auto game by far, compared to the previous installment’s 120 GB size with all the extras installed. The story content is supposed to last for 80 hours, and this does not include exploring the map or engaging with the world.

GTA VI will make it possible to easily switch between Lucia and Jason, with a quick transition between switches, allowing players to change which part of the story they are completing at any time.

Grand Theft Auto VI is planned to release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. You can view the full trailer here.
