Like most MMOs, Final Fantasy XIV makes events for special occasions and holidays of the year. The Starlight Celebration is a seasonal event that takes place every December. While the quests and their rewards change every year, it is always Christmas themed. This year’s quest starts December 17 and ends on December 31. The quest will have you delivering and guessing which punch flavor you will hand out to some NPCs, so read on for our breakdown!
First, like many event quests, you will head to Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre in Old Gridania. There, speak with Amh Garanjy who will offer you the level 15 quest “We Three Kinderpunsch.” After accepting the quest, go to the Starlight Stalls Guide who is just by the side of the stage. He will give you the option to go to the Starlight Stalls. In this Christmas adorned area, find Amh Garanjy and speak to her there, where she will assign you to ask some NPCs about Kinderpunsch from their respective cities.
These NPCs are around the market area of Old Gridania. All three of them will be marked on your map. They will let you know the ingredients they use for their punch. In Gridania they use apples and cinnamon. Lominsa, foreign spices and citrus. Ul’dah, dried fruits and black pepper in sweet butter tea. All very fitting for their areas! Keep these ingredients in mind so that you can serve the correct ones later.
Report back to Amh, and she will then send you back to the Stalls to let the kids know about the punch. After speaking with the kids, report to the Saturnine Starlight Celebrant when you are ready to serve.
First, kids will ask you which punch might be better for their preferences. Remember the ingredients from before and you should give them the correct one. In case you can’t identify the ingredients, these should be the answers: For the Amiable Boy – Ul’dahn. For the Bright Girl – Lominsan. For the Bold Boy and Quiet Girl – Ul’dahn & Gridanian. And for the Joultain – Lominsan.
After serving the punch, report back to Amh to finish the quest. However, you can still serve more punch for other NPCs even after the quest is over. The rewards of the quest include six emotes: Gridanian Sip, Ul’dahn Sip, Lominsan Sip, Gridanian Gulp, Ul’dahn Gulp, and Lominsan Gulp. Speak to the Starlight vendor just outside the Amphitheatre to buy the exclusive cups for decoration.
