Electronic Arts has officially revealed that Kylian Mbappé will be the cover athlete for EA Sports FC 27 Ultimate Edition, bringing the French superstar back to the front of the franchise after four years. In addition, the Real Madrid and France forward is also set to appear as the cover star for EA Sports FC Mobile.
EA Sports shared the news through its official X (formerly Twitter) account, confirming Mbappé as this year’s featured player. The company wrote, “Back on the cover. Ready to go again,” while teasing the full game reveal, which will take place on Thursday, July 23.

The Ultimate Edition artwork shows Mbappé wearing Real Madrid’s 2026/27 home kit. Although this is his first cover since the series was rebranded as EA Sports FC, it marks his fourth appearance on the cover of EA’s football games after FIFA 21, FIFA 22, and FIFA 23.
On his return to the cover, Mbappé said in a press release, “To be featured on the cover of an EA Sports FC title for the first time is a very special moment for me. It’s an honour to continue my long-term relationship with the franchise in its latest chapter, alongside the players who have shaped its history. I can’t wait for everyone to experience FC 27.”
As mentioned earlier, the company has also confirmed that the full reveal will be released on Thursday, July 23. The presentation is expected to showcase new gameplay features, game modes, updated mechanics, and the game’s official release date. However, well-known leaker billbil-kun from Dealabs has reported that the game is expected to launch worldwide on September 25. According to the leaker, it will also be released on previous-generation consoles alongside current-generation platforms.
